BQQ sauce is one of our favourites and we love adding it to burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers too! It adds the perfect touch of spicy and sweet and with this recipe, using our Nuvia Sweetener it is sugar free 🙂

Makes 2 jars worth
INGREDIENTS
- 500g jar tomato paste
- 110g apple cider vinegar
- 4 Nuvia Sweetener sticks
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp fresh garlic
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup of water
- ½ teaspoon liquid hickory smoke / chipotle seasoning (optional)
METHOD
- 1. Fry the spices and garlic in a little oil over a medium heat for 2 minutes until fragrant stirring continuously.
- 2. Add all the other ingredients to the pan and whisk together.
- 3. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a low simmer for 25 – 30 minutes until the sauce has reached a bbq consistency. Stir every few minutes.
- 4. More water can be added for a looser consistency, Nuvia Sweetener for sweetness or cayenne pepper for heat.
